Pierce Stronczer Law History
Discover Our History
Michelle Pierce Stronczer (“Shelley”) founded PS Law in July 2006. As Shelley has always dreamed of doing, the firm caters to employers and women in business. In September 2007, PS Law was certified as a Women’s Business Enterprise (“WBE”) by the Women’s Business Enterprise Council.
Prior to starting PS Law, Shelley was a partner at Baker & Hostetler, LLP, a highly-respected, large national law firm. She left the security of large firm life to offer her clients and colleagues an attractive alternative to large firm structures and lack of flexibility without sacrificing premier quality representation.
When PS Law opened its doors, Shelley, her experience, skills and computer were its only assets. In the short time since then, the firm has grown to include full-time and part-time office and legal professionals. We intend to continue this growth in the near future, adding practice areas and legal professionals.
PS Law is not modeled on traditional law firms and we are proud to set ourselves apart. PS Law strives to keep its quality high and fees innovative. Its attorneys enjoy a uniquely flexible work-life balance and as a result, they can keep their focus on serving clients and the community.
Shelley is no stranger to that delicate balancing act. She started her long journey to independence first as a secretary at the Portage County Legal Aid Society shortly after earning an associate’s degree. Then she embarked on her legal career after tenaciously pursuing her education at The University of Akron School of Law B.A., magna cum laude, 1993; University of Akron School of Law J.D., summa cum laude, 1996. Shelley copiously achieved her education over the span of more than 15 years while simultaneously balancing full-time employment and family. Shelley pursues her client’s legal interests with equal tenacity. Her entrepreneurial spirit and experience as an advocate for employers makes her keenly aware of the importance of guarding her clients’ bottom line. Her dream firm shares her values.
